Ali Ahmed
Ali Ahmed is a seasoned leader with over 26 years of experience across local government and the voluntary sector, with a deep-rooted commitment to racial justice, equity, poverty reduction, and community empowerment. His career has been defined by designing and delivering impactful programmes that address the systemic challenges faced by Black and Global Majority (BGM) communities and the organisations that support them.
Currently serving as Programme Manager at The Ubele Initiative since May 2022, Ali leads innovative and collaborative efforts to tackle social and economic inequalities affecting racialised communities. His leadership extends to governance roles as Trustee of the Legal Advice Centre (University House) and Vice-Chair and Board Member of The Collaboration Circle, where he champions inclusive policy and strategic development.
Ali has been a driving force at ROTA (Race on the Agenda) since 2007 and has served as Chair since 2010. His dedication to social justice, innovation and community resilience is further recognised through his fellowship with the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).
