ROTA is a grassroots organisation working with and for communities to challenge racial inequalities, influence policy, and shape public narratives, including in housing and homelessness.
We know that sometimes people need direct, practical support. If you are facing housing problems, homelessness, poor living conditions, discrimination, or domestic abuse, the organisations below provide free, confidential help
Shelter (England & Scotland)
What they do:
Free, expert housing and homelessness advice for people facing eviction, homelessness, unsafe housing conditions, and tenancy issues.

What they do:
UK-wide free advice on evictions, rent arrears, homelessness prevention, benefits and housing rights.

Free legal advice for people experiencing eviction, homelessness, landlord harassment, unlawful eviction and disrepair.

What they do:

Independent service that investigates complaints about social landlords, repairs, service failures and poor treatment.

What they do:
BME-led housing and homelessness charity offering casework, advice and support for people facing homelessness and racial harassment.

A specialist organisation addressing violence against Black and minoritised women. Provides a dedicated “Get Help” section signposting to local and national domestic abuse services.
