Evis joined ROTA in August 2010 as a Part-Time Finance Manager. She has been working in the third sector for the last 12 years. She is a strong believer of the great impact that refugee community organisations have on enabling this group of people to settle and integrate into society and representing their needs at the right level, as well as on highlighting their contribution that they bring to the society. In the last two and a half years, Evis has been working as a financial account with Shpresa Programme (Albanian for hope) a very well known organization for its successful model of working and the positive impact on the Albanian speaking community.
Evis has worked for number charities as a volunteer and paid worker at The Children's Society, and the Newham Refugee and Migrant Project. She acted as Treasurer and Board member of the Shpresa Programme for two years, dealing with all financial matters of the organisation and project development, especially dealing with volunteers and events organiser. Later, she was employed by Shpresa Programme as Women and Volunteer Development Worker and the as Finance Manager.
Evis continues to work as Finance Manager with Shpresa Programme and also manages the Crossover Accountants Project, based at Mansfield House in Plaistow E13. The project provides practical training for refugees and migrants with an accountancy background and provides accountancy services to small voluntary and community groups. As part of this work, Evis has provided accountancy services to Twist partnership project on consultancy basis.
