Whether you’re a seasoned Host or opening your home for the first time, building a community based on belonging, trust and safety is a priority at Airbnb.
This is why we founded our UK Trust and Safety Alliance, a network of expert organisations that provide information and guidance for UK Hosts and our wider community.
Over the past 15 years, our community has grown to more than 4 million Hosts and over 1 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. Unfortunately, discrimination happens in our world, which means it can happen on platforms like Airbnb.
As part of the UK Trust and Safety Alliance, Airbnb partnered with leading anti-racist organisation Race on the Agenda (ROTA), to explore ways that Hosts can become better allies by educating and informing themselves on racism as well as highlighting the many anti-discrimination rules in place on the Airbnb platform.
We’re sharing dedicated guidance to help Hosts on Airbnb to be even more inclusive and create a space where all guests feel like they belong.
This partnership builds on our longstanding commitment to make Airbnb more open and inclusive. In 2016, Airbnb launched Project Lighthouse, to better understand the factors that drive racial disparity. Since then we have instituted a series of platform and product actions to increase acceptance, combat bias and improve booking success rates for everyone.
