MiNet Coordinator: Anthony Salla

Anthony has worked at ROTA since September 2007, starting as a volunteer then progressing to a paid position whilst involved in ROTA's hate crime project. In early 2009 Anthony then moved to a new position at ROTA as MiNet Coordinator. Anthony graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2007 with a BA in International Development. During his undergraduate studies he completed his dissertation in India on the knowledge, attitudes and behaviour of the middle class towards HIV/AIDS. He has a particular interest in issues of poverty and the measurement of poverty, both internationally and here in the UK.

Other areas of key interest include social deprivation, housing, crime and deviance, whilst he regularly facilitates residential trips for youngsters from deprived areas of Liverpool. His voluntary work has included HIV/AIDS information dissemination in Nigeria and India, whilst he provided assistance to a basic needs development project in Belize. Anthony also spent two years at Toxteth Citizens Advice Bureau working on various areas of social policy with particular relevance to government benefits. In 2008 Anthony completed his MSc Social Policy at the London School of Economics.
