ROTA's Hate Crime Training April 2010
Date: 12/04/2010
Venue: Safer London Foundation
Details: On 12 April 2010 ROTA will be delivering training on the use of restorative justice with hate crimes/incidents with a particular focus on multi-agency partnerships. Trainers include Ben Lyon (Independent Restorative Justice caseworker, a Consultant and Trainer) and Elena Noel (Southwark Mediation Centre, Hate Crime Project Manager).

The training, which has received excellent feedback, builds on the findings and recommendations of the Restoring Relationships Project. It draws attention to the dynamics of hate crime, the role of mediation, and the value of restorative justice and multi agency, cross sector partnerships.

Training will be delivered by experts in the field, utilising the research report "Restoring Relationships" and manual developed by our resident expert in Restorative Justice, Dr. Theo Gavrielides. This will be useful for people working in the fields of: conflict resolution; community tensions; domestic and sexual violence; housing, school and work disputes; including criminal justice agencies, safer neighbourhood teams, and hate crime coordinators.

Places are limited: Book now

Places are limited and will be free of charge to small third sector organisations with fewer than 10 members of staff (with a holding payment of £25 which will be reimbursed on attendance). Statutory and private sector organisations will be charged a non refundable fee of £65. Training material, certificate of attendance, lunch and refreshments are all included.
